About Us

Thank you for taking the first step towards your own or your child’s wellbeing.

At CAL, we understand that starting an assessment for yourself or your child can feel overwhelming. Our expert multidisciplinary team – comprising clinical and educational psychologists, psychiatrists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists – works closely with children, adolescents, families, and schools to provide comprehensive neurodevelopmental and educational assessments.

We specialise in diagnosing and supporting ADHD, Autism, behavioral and emotional challenges, and learning difficulties. Our personalised approach includes a range of tailored interventions for families, and parent & teacher consultations. For adults exploring a late diagnosis of Autism or ADHD, we offer assessments and support to help them better understand their needs. All our assessments are evidence-based, NICE-approved, and regulated by the HCPC, ensuring high-quality, reliable care. With CAL, you receive expert, coordinated support—all in one place.

We look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Client Testimonials

What is ADHD?

ADHD involves difficulty focusing (inattention), being overly active (hyperactivity), and acting without thinking (impulsivity), and it’s something that impacts a person’s ability to function well in their day-to-day life. The behaviours are usually seen across different situations and for a long time, and they can cause significant challenges in school, work, or relationships.

What is ASD?

ASD involves difficulty with socialising, understanding communication cues, and engaging in flexible behaviours. People with ASD may have a strong focus on specific interests or routines, and they might respond differently to sensory experiences. These challenges are usually present from an early age and impact daily life, but with the right support, individuals with ASD can thrive and develop their unique strengths.

INTELLIGENCE TESTING

CAL provides the Wechsler IQ tests, like the WAIS (for adults) and WISC (for children), are widely used tools that assess a person’s cognitive abilities. Rather than providing a single score, these tests break down intelligence into different areas to give a detailed profile of an individual’s strengths and challenges.

Edcucational Assessment

CAL provides assessments of academic ability, using tests such as the Wechsler Individual Achievement Test – Third UK Edition (WIAT-III UK). These assessments help us create a detailed profile of academic skills, such as reading, language, and mathematics, which helps identify areas of strength and need. The results guide educators, parents, and clinicians in providing tailored support for children, as well as helping adults structure tasks in the workplace.

Dynamic Assessment

Dynamic Assessment (DA) is a progressive approach that offers a deeper, more holistic understanding of an individual’s cognitive abilities. Unlike traditional IQ tests, which only measure a person’s current knowledge or skills, DA focuses on learning potential—how well someone can improve when given the right guidance, support, and teaching methods.

Emotional Regulation

CAL offers children and their parents post-diagnostic therapy packages of support that focus on emotional and social development through well-known, internationally recognised programmes like Zones of Regulation and Social Thinking.
